Micro propagated or Tissue culture produced plants have revolutionized agriculture since the 70's, by providing uniform, disease free, high quality plants in abundance.

Tissue culture offers uniform yields, good selection of right varieties, resistance against disease and faster, larger yield compared to conventional planting material. With a production capacity of two million plants per annum, AKF plant sciences supplies tissue culture plants on a routine basis, both locally and internationally.

Grand Nain

Asia’s favourite table top variety having excellent keeping quality. Tissue Culture Grand Naine is best suited for high density planting.

  • Each bunch has about 10 to 12 hands with 175 to 225 fruits.
  • Delicious taste, preferred dessert banana variety
  • High yielding (Avg. 30 kg per plant)
  • Long cylindrical fruits with less curvature, length of fruit approx. 7 to 11 inches
  • Good keeping quality
  • Good wind tolerance, height at maturity approx. 6 to 8 feet
  • Excellent landscaping potential
  • Attractive yellowish green colour at maturity
  • Internationally acceptable both as fresh fruit and in processed form
  • Greater pulp to peel ratio and highly suitable for processing.

    Ex Agar Plants

    Ex Agar Plants are fully rooted and graded tissue cultures which need to be hardened further in a greenhouse. Recommended for importers as they have good survival during international delivery and buyers can save on air shipping costs

    Net Pot

    These plants are primary hardened in elle pot plugs or trays with mainly cocopeat as growing media. This is customizable on buyers’s request and is suitable for both local and international shipping of tissue culture plants

    Secondary Hardened Plants

    Secondary hardened plants ready for field planting, available as plugs or bags , in cocopeat or other potting mixer.

    AKF 24 Dwarf

    Our AKF Farms Grand Naine Selection has an outstanding bunch weight, larger hands and longer fingers. Plants are shorter and require less staking. Highly profitable producing 12 to 16 hands consisting of 220-250 fruits per bunch.

      Yelakki

      India’s favorite banana, also known as Elachi banana has an extraordinary taste, firm fruits and bright yellow colour. AKF farms Yelakki Banana on a commercial scale and obtains cultures from its own selection

      • Most commonly cultivated commercial bananas especially in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
      • Slender, medium tall plant bearing dark green fruits that turn golden yellow or bright yellow upon ripening
      • Highly fragrant, tasty, and firm fruits which give it the popular nickname “Elaichi Banana”
      • The plants bearing the fruits are smaller with prominent beak packed closely round the axis having a windblown appearance.
      • Pulp of the Yellaki fruit is ivory white in color
      • Specially suited for long transportation
      • It is capable of producing 10-14 hands and 12-15 fingers consisting of 100-150 fruits per plant
      • Fruit length 4 to 5 inches
